British Triathlon - Event Volunteer

The Big Weekend is host to the final round of our Youth and Junior Super Series as well as the Inter Regional Championships for Tri Star 2s and Tri Star 3s and now for the first time includes racing opportunities for elite Senior athletes. In the past, future stars of British Triathlon have competed (previously known as the Under 20's Festival) including Jonathan Brownlee, Gordon Benson and Lucy Hall so there's potential to see the next star of British Triathlon, and who knows, maybe even a future world champion!

After the successful introduction of a second day of Mixed Relay racing last year, this has been expanded to include the Accenture British Triathlon Mixed Relay Cup in 2019, bringing together Britain's best athletes in this exciting new Olympic discipline.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Assist the delivery of an elite standard event – various roles available: start area marshalling, course marshalling, transition marshalling, finish line and registration.
  • Be enthusiastic and support competitors during the day
  • Work as part of a small, fun and enthusiastic events team.

WHAT YOU'LL GET OUT OF IT

Gain hands-on experience of working as part of a small but enthusiastic events team at an elite standard event. Some of the best rising stars of triathlon will be competing at Mallory Park and this opportunity gives you the chance to assist their positive event experience!

We will provide you with breakfast, lunch and an event crew t-shirt dependent on shift time. We will also provide any necessary role training and support. You will be fully briefed on event day with key information regarding your role.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain event-based experience whilst also providing the chance to make important contacts for future volunteering opportunities.

Please ensure that you dress for changeable weather as the event will be taking place rain or shine! Bring a comfortable bag to hold your belongings as there will be nowhere secure to store valuables.
