Northampton Town FC Community Trust & Northamptonshire Sport run a Volunteer Coaching Academy, which offers those aged 18-25 the opportunity to gain employability skills & experience in the sports and leisure environment with our FREE training & development programme. The Academy will help its graduates take the first step in to coaching & volunteering, and upon completion of the course will provide support that will help its graduates to become fully qualified coaches. The course is not just football related, and is open to anyone wishing to volunteer in any sport or physical activity.
A previous graduate, Jason, started volunteering at the Premier League Kicks programme upon completing the course. The mentoring he received as part of the support provided to graduates allowed him to continue to improve his coaching, and eventually he was offered a some paid work within the Kicks scheme. Jason said "I have always wanted to give back to the local community I am from and have really enjoyed my journey so far, I am looking forward to where it takes me. The VCA has helped me with refreshing and learning some skills I had not thought about before and has helped me improve my coaching"
Our next cohort starts June 22nd, and will consist of a mixture of online & practical face to face learning. For more the information & to sign up, please visit www.ntfccommunity.co.uk/volunteer-coaching-academy
