School Games Mark
The School Games Mark was created by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and is implemented and developed by the Youth Sports Trust and Sport England. The Mark rewards Schools for their commitment to and development of competition, school sport and physical education.
A record number of 32 Schools achieved the School Games Mark for 2014/2015. For the first time, every Secondary School achieved Bronze, Silver or Gold which is testament to strength of PE and School Sport in the District. A total of 10 Schools achieved School Games Mark Gold, the highest number in the County for a School Sport Partnership.
The criteria for Bronze, Silver and Gold cover four key areas: Participation, Competition, Workforce and Clubs (Silver and Gold only). Schools apply for School Games Mark annually, the deadline for 2015/2016 applications is 28 September 2016.
