Safeguarding Adults in Sport
Many sport and activity organisations have only relatively recently started to understand and address safeguarding responsibilities in relation to vulnerable adults or adults at risk.
In the last 2 years the issue has been more widely recognised with Sport England now funding the Ann Craft Trust (ACT) to provide advice, guidance and support for funded NGBs and CSPs on safeguarding adults in sport and activity.
We are currently exploring the need for training in this area, with training aimed at
- Safeguarding Adults in Sport and Activity Training – 3 hour course aimed at activity deliverers, sports coaches and club welfare leads
- Safeguarding Adults at Risk Training for Managers – 1 day course aimed at safeguarding leads and development organisations
