Primary School Games Competitions

Y5/6 Small Schools Football

The first School Games competition of the year kicked off with the Year 5/6 Small Schools competition taking place at Manor School Sports College.

Competition: 1st October 2015

1st: Great Doddington*

2nd: Great Addington*

3rd: Wilby

* denotes schools that have qualified for the Level 3 School Games

Y5/6 Girls Football

Manor School Sports College hosted the Year 5/6 Girls Football competition which was attended by 9 Schools from across the District. Female referees from Year 7 & 8 proved to be excellent officials and role models to the players.

Y5/6 Tag Rugby World Cup

The Rugby World Cup came to the School Sports Partnership this term with two Tag Rugby competitions. Each school represented a competing nation, and the SSP celebrated a large increase in participation with 24 schools taking part across the 2 venues.

Rushden and Higham Rugby Club hosted the Thursday competition excellently supported by referees from both The Ferrers School and Rushden Academy.

On Friday, Wellingborough Rugby club hosted with referees provided by Sir Christopher Hatton Academy.

1st: Finedon Mulso* (Argentina)

2nd Oakway Academy (South Africa)

3rd: Park Juniors (Scotland)

Y5/6 Open Football

Fourteen schools descended on Manor School Sports College to contest the Year 5/6 Open Schools competition. Once again the competition was complemented by excellent officials which were provided by the host school.

Y5/6 Sportshall Athletics

The results from the two Sportshall Athletics competitions were as follows:

Thursday 19th November @ Manor School Sports College

1st: St. Peters School

2nd: Croyland

Thursday 26th November @ Wollaston School

1st: Oakway Academy

2nd: Our Lady's Catholic School

All 4 school have been invited to contest a 'Sportshall Athletics Finals' competition in January to decide which schools progress to Level 3 competition.
