Northamptonshire School Games 2020-21

The School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport.

The Northamptonshire School Games is part of a national programme of competitive sport that is open to all young people in every school across Northamptonshire. It is a celebration of competitive sport that involves young people aged 5-18 years, of all abilities and backgrounds.

The School Games programme is made up of three levels of competition:

  • Intra-School: Competition within a school ie regular house competitions
  • Inter-School: Competitions between local schools ie cluster/partnership events
  • County Finals: Competitions between schools countywide representing their districts

Intra- and Inter-School competitions are coordinated by the five School Sport Partnerships in Northamptonshire, with the School Games County Finals events managed and delivered by Northamptonshire Sport.

The Northamptonshire School Games programme provides schools the chance to boost their existing work in school sport to create a year-round calendar of competition for all students.

Virtual Intra- and Inter-School Competitions 2020/21

Following the success of the Virtual School Games this summer and the continuing uncertainty surrounding the return of school sport competition in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Northamptonshire Sport have compiled a calendar of sporting opportunities for schools across the county to participate in both virtually and eventually in person, when it is safe to do so.
