New Northampton Facility to Help Provide Opportunities for Disabled People to Get Active!

A new pavilion has been opened at Fernie Fields Sports and Social Club in Northampton providing a much needed indoor facility for activities to take place.
The pavilion has been funded by Northampton Borough Council, Northamptonshire Community Foundation and local businesses. Many Volunteers have given their time to construct the building with the ethos that it will help many charitable organisations.
One of the main uses of this new facility will be to provide an indoor venue for activities run by Sport4Fitness CIC for disabled people and their families at their multi – sports club sessions which take place every Sunday 2-4pm.
Prior to its completion the club only had use of the outdoor facilities which restricted the activities they could offer and people they could cater for. Now they can include everyone regardless of the weather and offer great sports like boccia and soft tennis.
Mark Flaxman from Sport4Fitness said of the new facility:
"We believe this building will help us to continue to achieve our ethos that everyone can achieve!"
The new facility will also be in use when Sport4Fitness host their annual Disability Fun Day at Fernie Fields on Sunday 7th July 2-5pm. This free event is open to people with additional needs of all ages and their families, or carers. There will be plenty of activities for attendees to take part in as well as stalls with information from a variety of local providers.
To book tickets to attend the Disability Fun Day go to the event booking page and for further information about it, use of the pavilion, or anything else Sport4Fitness offer please contact them on firstname.lastname@example.org 07491 306630.
