Blisworth:

Walking Football

Walking Football is a slower, walking version of the regular game, aimed mainly at 50+. It's an excellent opportunity for a bit of physical activity and the chance to get out the house and meet new people.

Walking football has just been launched at Blisworth football club, meeting every Tuesday at 10:45am – 12noon. The first 4 sessions are free, £2 thereafter which includes a free tea or coffee after the session.

Introduction Nordic Walking

Nordic Walking is a low impact activity suitable for ages 8 to 80 and any size, shape or fitness level. It's fun, friendly, sociable and improves circulation, posture, balance and is gentle on the joints. An introduction to Nordic Walking session is being held at Blisworth Village Hall car park on Thursday 28th March, 1:30pm – 2:30pm. The session is £5 and palces can be booked by contacting Kev: 07958 365 914 / kev@nordicwalkingnorthampton.com. Training session and regular walks dates to follow

Kings Sutton:

Walk & Talk Sessions with Kings Sutton Primary School.

We recently ran 2 sessions which saw the local Kings Sutton walking group take children from Kings Sutton primary school for a healthy walk around the village while having a chat! The sessions which aim to link schools with the local community enables two very different generations to enjoy each other's company, as well as exercise.

Each walker was assigned to a pair of children from the school. Once paired, the leaders took the entire group on a 20 minute walking route finishing off at the hall where Youth Activators from South Northamptonshire Council hosted a range of games and activities for everyone to participate in.

Then after a well earned drink and biscuit break, the walkers chaperoned our children back to school.

After the success of the sessions, these will be replicated
and is open who would like to take part in some gentle exercise. The school gates walking group will meet on the following dates:

17th May, 24th May, 12th July, 19th July

The walk will start at 9:15am from the school and will aim to finish at 10:15am. From there, the children and adults will take part in a joint sport session either on the field or in the school hall depending on the weather. The session will be finished by 11:30am.
