‘Get Up & Go‘ Project looking for instructors to join its network

Are you a community instructor?
Are you interested in supporting the older adults across Northamptonshire?
Would you like some free training to benefit the people of Northamptonshire?
As part of Northamptonshire Sports Get Up & Go project that already delivers over 25 strength and balance classes to older adults, who have suffered an injury from a fall or those who are looking to improve either there strength or balance through physical activity – we are recruiting for candidates to go on our next OTAGO Exercise Leader Award course in Northampton.
The OTAGO Exercise Leader Course is provided by Later Life Training Ltd and they are the international leader in the specialist field of Falls Prevention Exercise for Frailer Older People. The qualification trains health professionals and exercise leaders to be knowledgeable, competent and confident in leading the 24 exercises that make up the pre-set programme.
- Have a Level 2 Gym or Level 2 equivalent qualification. (Or be a qualified Physiotherapist, Sport & Exercise Scientists, Rehab assistant, occupational therapist).
- A keen interest in working in community settings to support older adults.
- Be committed to delivering two community sessions for a minimum of 24 weeks in a community dwelling of your choice. Support will be provided by the project coordinator.
- Complete a Service Level Agreement agreeing to fulfil the monitoring and evaluation process in place.
