School to Club Link opportunity with local Judo Clubs

British Judo's local Development Officer, Laurence Kenyon, is currently working with 3 Judo clubs in Northampton to develop their links with schools and help them in attracting new members.
As part of this Laurence Kenyon would like to offer Primary Schools in Northampton the opportunity to have FREE Judo Taster days in the period immediately after the Easter Break (Term 5).
The format for these days would be fairly simple, a day of Judo Taster sessions for Yr 1-6 pupils. Each session can accommodate 30 pupils; if the school is large this can be done over 2 days.
Each session would be approximately 45minutes long, although they are generally arranged to fit into the normal timetable and running of the day so can be a little less or a little more (max 1 hour).
Session covers – Introductions, Warm Up, Breakfall, Throw, Hold and transition between throw and hold. All done from a kneeling position to lessen impacts and ensure safety. At the end of each session the pupils would be given information about the 3 local clubs (see attached flier).
The school needs to have Gymnastics mat that cover c24sq metres, and be willing to photocopy sufficient fliers for a distribution of one to per pupil.
Laurence Kenyon will deliver the sessions. He has the following qualifications/insurances, however it is the responsibility of the school to check his qualifications and insurances prior to him delivering any sessions in your school.
- UKCC L2 Judo
- BJA Licensed Coach
- DBS through British Judo
- Insured through BJA Coaching License
