Northants Para - Swimmers Make Their Mark in Denmark!

Ellie Robinson and Maisie Summers - Newton of Northampton Swimming Club both achieved great success at the first event of the 2018 World Para - Swimming Series held in Copenhagen last weekend winning 6 of the 24 medals won in total by the Great Britain team between them!

Sixteen year - old Robinson warmed up for the Commonwealth Games being held on the Gold Coast in Australia at the start of April where she'll be representing Team England by winning gold in the 100m Freestyle and 50m Butterfly. She also won a silver in the 200m Freestyle and bronze in the 50m Freestyle.

Fifteen year - old Summers - Newton won silver medals in the 400m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley. She also came 5th in the 100m Breaststroke just missing out on the medals having swam a brilliant time that was just outside the S6 classification World Record!

Anyone with a disability, or sensory impairment inspired by Ellie and Maisie's performances who would like to get involved in para - swimming should contact Northampton Swimming Club either by phone on 01604 622264, or email enquiries@northamptonswimming.com.
