Northampton Academy Cluster - Term 3 update

We have had a busy term of activities. Many of the cluster schools thoroughly enjoyed the Yr 3/4 Badminton Festival and the opportunity to have some high quality coaching delivered in their school as a result of attending the Festival.
I have been into St Andrews Primary and Boothville Primary School to undertake Young Leader Reviews. It is always a pleasure to see the Young Leaders utilising and putting into the practice the skills they were given at their Young Leader Training on Term 1. In both schools there were some exceptional Young Leaders. During the review the Young Leaders are asked to share 'What Went Well' with their peers as well ask discussion aspects of their sessions that could be 'Even Better If...' their ability to be honest and reflective of the sessions they are delivering was commendable and they came up with innovative ways of how they could change their practice to make the experience for their peers even better.
Vernon Terrace Primary School need a special mention...they sent 4 pupils to the Pre-Level 2 Goalball practice and had a great session, fully engaged and demonstrating progress just within the 1.5 session they had. They arrived for the Level 2 Inclusive Goalball competition full of beans and raring to go. They won their competition pool which meant that they progressed to the medal play-offs and finished 2nd overall. What was incredible though is that very member of their Goalball Team had a hearing impairment, so not only were they unable to see anything their hearing was also impaired, something you are very reliant on in Goalball. These were the first School Games medals that the School have ever one...Well Done to all involved.
