KC Cluster - Term 3 update

The Kingsthorpe Cluster has had yet another busy term. Many of our schools attended the Year 3/4 Badminton Festival at Benham Sports Arena. The pupils took part in a variety of challenge stations aimed at increasing their understanding of the sport and specific badminton skills. Year 7/8 Young Leaders from Kingsthorpe College supported this event by running the activity stations over the duration of the day.

On 16th March over 70 children from our cluster schools attended the Year 4 Multi-Sport Festival at Kingsthorpe College. They took part in a rotation of activities run by Kingsthorpe College Young Leaders. We mixed all the children up so they were pushed out of their comfort zones and challenged to work with children from other schools. They did brilliantly and it was fantastic to see them all supporting each other. Activities included Benchball, Badminton and Team Challenges.

In the run up to the Year 3/4 Gymnastics competition our schools were practicing hard. I had the pleasure of going into a couple of schools to help them prepare for the competition. Many of them were giving up their lunchtimes, or coming in before school to practice. Their hard work paid off as they all did brilliantly in the Level 2 competition at the end of January.

Year 4/5 pupils came to Kingsthorpe College in February for an Archery practice session. They received coaching from a specialist archery coach to prepare them for the upcoming Level 2 Arrows Archery competition on 7th March. There were some really strong performances at this session so we are hopeful of some good results at the competition. Good luck to all the pupils involved.
