FIBA Information for all Officials
Posted: Tue, 20 Feb 2018 13:05
For all officials, coaches and the wider basketball community, we now have the latest version of interpretations from FIBA that came into force on 1 February 2018.
The aim of the interpretations document is to convert the principles and concepts of the official FIBA rule book into practical and specific situations as they might arise during a regular basketball game. The interpretations of the different situations can then be used to complement an initial detailed study of the rules themselves.
Areas such as control of the ball, time outs and substitutions, player injuries and injury breaks, travelling, dribbling and more are all explained in practical situations, with reference to the appropriate rules. Only some parts of the interpretations have received an update here, but it always good to be familiar with this document.
