BaseballSoftballUK has been given the opportunity to send two young female players to the Youth Sport Trust's Girls Active Camp and are seeking nominations from the baseball & softball community.
The camp will be held at Loughborough University from Friday 23rd to Sunday the 25th of March 2018 and is open to women aged between 16-18 and in full-time education.
The camp is free to attend.
If you would like to nominate a young female player please email us and tell us why the person you've nominated would be a good candidate. Nominations should be directed to Liz.Knight@bsuk.com before midnight Thursday 15th February 2018.
All nominees must currently be taking on coaching/activator roles and be prepared to deliver 10 weeks of activity sessions in the sport of Softball or Baseball.
The Girls Active Camp is supported by the Youth Sport Trust and their Girls Active initiative. Girls Active supports schools to understand what motivates girls to take part in physical activity. It enables teachers to work with the girls – through consultation and leadership – to make the necessary changes to their physical education (PE), sport and physical activity provision. Developed by the Youth Sport Trust, and delivered in partnership with This Girl Can and Women in Sport, Girls Active is funded by Sport England.
The Chief Medical Officers (CMO) recommend that all children and young people should engage in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes and up to several hours every day.
