PE and Sport Premium funding announced

This week the Department for Education has confirmed that the 2017-18 Premium Funding for PE & School Sport grant has doubled to a minimum of £16000 per school.

The PE and School Sport Premium is a government commitment to help primary schools improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils.

Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport they offer, either in developing or adding to the PE and sport activities that are already offered or by making improvements now that will benefit pupils joining the school in future years

This can be used in a variety of ways, for example to hire qualified sports coaches to work with teachers or provide existing staff with training

Schools must publish details of how this funding is spent in a Premium Funding Review by April 2018.

If your school would like to discuss how to maximise your primary school sport funding or you would like support in preparing your Premium Funding Review please contact Northamptonshire Sport : info@northamptonshiresport.org
