Are you Chair Aware?!! We always criticise people for being inactive and sitting on their 'chair' (couch potatoes!) but did you know that you can sit on a chair and still be active?!
Chair Based Activity is the latest session to be added to the schedule in Billing as a result of the Active Billing Community Project!
Northamptonshire Sport have been working with Bellinge Community House in one of the most statistically inactive areas in the county. The Active Billing Community Project was launched in December 2016 following a successful grant application to Northampton Community Foundation and have so far established Health Walks, a thriving Jogging Group and now a Chair Based Activity Session!
Residents of the area were surveyed to gather information about what it would take to 'activate' them and Chair Based Activity has proven its popularity with last weeks' positive turnout.
Local resident Danielle Melvin (27) attended the first session last week and said:
'I never thought that you could be that active just sitting in your chair but I really enjoyed last weeks' sessions and will definitely be back!'
The second session will take place on Tuesday 27th June and everyone is welcome! Further information can be found below:
Date: 27th June (and for the following 5 weeks)
Venue: Bellinge Community Centre, Fieldmill Square, Bellinge, Northamptonshire, NN3 9AQ
Cost: Just £2.50 per session
No need to book, just turn up - participants are recommended to wear layers of loose clothing and bring a bottle of water. Tea and coffee will be provided afterwards at Bellinge Community House. If you have any questions beforehand, please get in touch with Lucy Alexander: email@example.com or call 07841784264.
