Amy Grant is 17 years old, from Wellingborough and currently goes to Weavers Academy Sixth Form having just started her A Levels. This week she was selected to play for one of the top English Netball Clubs, Loughborough Lightning U21s.
Amy has played for Northants JMs since she was 14 years old taking part in the U14s and U16s Club Nationals. The U16s squad were shortlisted for Team of the Year at the Northants Sports Awards. She now plays for Northants JMs in the Regional Adult League.
Amy has been part of the East Midlands Regional Netball Programme for the past two years and earlier this year was selected for Loughborough Lightning U19s NPL squad. She plays GS or GA. Amy attended trials on Tuesday last week at Loughborough Netball Centre for the Loughborough Lightning U21s and was selected for the squad alongside Chloe Essam and Maddie Munroe-Hall. The three girls originally played together for the Northants JMs U16 Club Nationals squad under coaches Stacey Poole & Kelly Washington.
Amy is still currently playing fixtures with the U19s NPL squad and will then continue into training with the U21s. Her selection was a massive surprise and is a brilliant opportunity to play with and learn from some of the best players in the region and country.
Amy is also completing her Level 1 Netball Coaching course.
Congratulations to Amy and all the best of luck in the U21s.
