Astro Bowls is coming to Moulton College.

On 31st March at gate 4 next to the Hockey Astro Turf Pitch, the official Launch of Astro Bowls will take place from 7pm to 9pm.

Astro Bowls is working to promote all formats of bowls by using artificial pitches which are not currently used for Bowls.

Why not play Crown Green Bowls, Lawn Bowls, Short Mat Bowls, Boccia, Federation Bowls, French Boules all year round outdoors in local communities on a hockey pitch, football pitch, tennis court?

The advantages of using an artificial surface for bowls is that using modern facilities and pitches means that these have the benefits of being designed with the modern world in mind, improving disability accessibility and benefitting from shared resources which is essential in the modern cost conscious world.

The potential and opportunity to take bowls to those with disabilities, a new age group of bowlers from 10 to 55 and those who may not know they have Bowls Clubs in their local community is significant.

We have selected the "Riding for the Disabled Association" as the charity we are supporting and raising money for at the "Astro Bowls" Launch event.

David Bolt (England International Champion Bowler) will be coming to the "Astro Bowls" launch to talk about bowls and there will be the opportiunity for local bowlers to play against him and he will also give some tips and advice etc.

So far we are fortunate in having Chris Heaton-Harris (our Daventry MP) launching the event with the head of Daventry District Council (Councillor Chris Millar), the Daventry District Council portfolio holder which includes sport (Councillor Alan Hills), the Daventry Town Council Mayor, attending to have a go at Bowls.

We would like to encourage guest to come along and have a go. Click on the link to Launch of Astro Bowls for more information.
