The latest project to be funded through Northamptonshire Sport's #NorthantsGirlsCan fund will launch on Monday 12th December. The Northants Girls Can Fund was released in October 2015 to increase the number of women over 25 years old participating in sport or physical activity, has already engaged with over 250 females through a number of projects.
The new Netfit sessions will take place 7.00pm - 8.00pm from Monday 12th December and will be funded through the #NorthantsGirlsCan fund for a total of 10 weeks with the aim of creating a platform of active women to enable the session to run regularly.
The Lings Forum Leisure Centre will be the host site for the sessions after identifying a demand for a new netball session off the back of our Women's Wednesday Workout evening that took place on Wednesday the 5th of October during Women in Sport week. The Netfit taster session that was delivered on the night was thoroughly enjoyed by all that were in attendance and the Sport and Play Development department at Northants Leisure Trust have been bombarded with requests to make it a permanent fixture amongst their weekly schedule.
There will be two sessions before the Christmas break on the 12th and 19th of December and it will reconvene in the New Year.
The sessions will cost just £3.00 per week and will start with half an hour of a fun netball based circuit session, which will lead directly into half an hour of match play.
