Free taster weekend for Horse Riding

The British Equestrian Federation have announced dates for their Hoof network's national open weekend for equestrianism, Give Horses a Go!

Give Horses A Go weekend 2016 has been developed from a very successful pilot event last year when Hoof allowed everybody in the country to celebrate the sport of equestrianism and all things 'horse'…and the nation demanded more!

Hoof is saving the weekend for you celebrate everything that our unique relationship with the horse has to offer, from riding to grooming and all things in between. People are amazed at the whole range of things you can do both on and off a horse to have fun, and Hoof wants to bring horses into the lives of more people. The event will aim to make people aware of their local centres and the feast of fantastic opportunities that are on offer in their own region.

Save the Date of our Give Horses a Go event which will be on the weekend of 17th and 18th of September 2016

What will happen on the "Give Horses A Go" weekend?

The format of each event up and down the country is entirely up to the centre running it – equestrianism is such a diverse and amazing sport which can be adapted to suit the needs of everyone. We are asking our centres to design an open day which will showcase their strengths and what equestrianism means to them. The public can expect free short 'taster' activities such as beginner riding sessions, yard tours, opportunities to groom and handle horses or pony patting sessions for the kids – a real family fun day and something for all. Centres have promised to add their individual twists varying from BBQs, cake stalls, and demonstrations to bouncy castles, face painting (as horses of course!!) and mystery guests! Centres that took part in the first Give Horses A Go last year have had a rewarding number of returning riders who were hooked after the event!
