Crick through to School Games Level 2 Tennis Finals

The Daventry North Cluster Mini-Red Tennis competition took place on Tuesday 17th May at West Haddon Tennis Club with only two teams competing for a place at the next round on Wednesday 8th June.

The mini-competition saw teams from Guilsborough and crick compete in four single matches with the team with the most wins taking home the title and the place at the next round. Each match was timed to 5 minutes.

The first singles match saw Finn (Crick) take on Benjamin (Guilsborough) which Finn won for Crick with an 8-5 scoreline. The second match saw Jake (Crick) compete against Joshua (Guilsborough) which Jake won 9-5. Annabel (Guilsborough) won the third singles match 12-3 against Connie (Crick) to set up a 4th match decider.

A Guilsborough win from Isabella by any scoreline would have secured them overall victory. However, a strong performance from Hermione resulted in a 10-2 victory for Crick which gave them the overall victory 3 matches to 1.

Crick will now progress to the School Games Level 2 Mini-Red Tennis Finals at Roade Tennis Club on Wednesday 8th June where they will compete against the eight other cluster winners from around South Northants and Daventry. The SSP would like to thanks both the children, staff and spectating parents for supporting the event and we wish Crick good luck at the next round.
