Moulton School hosted the Daventry South Cluster Year 3/4 Quicksticks Hockey competition on Wednesday 20th April with 6 teams from 5 local primary schools competing for glory.
The competition, played in cold, windy conditions, saw teams from Overstone, Moulton, Boughton, Crick and The Bramptons take part in a round robin competition supported by the Sports Leaders from Moulton School with the winners progressing through to the South Northants and Daventry Level 2 Quicksticks Finals at Caroline Chisholm School on Thursday 19th May.
Early victories for Boughton B, Crick and Overstone put them as early favourites to stake a claim for the competition victory but a defeat and a draw for Boughton B and Overstone allowed Crick to claim a hold of the top spot, which they would hold on to for the rest of the competition - finishing unbeaten with 4 victories from 4.
Overstone finished 2nd with just the one loss, with Boughton A, Boughton B and Moulton finishing 3rd, 4th and 5th respectively on 16, 15 and 14 points. The Bramptons rounded of the table in 6th place with 5 points.
Well done to all children competing and thank you to all staff and parents who attended the event and supported their schools. The School Sport Partnership would like to wish Crick and Overstone good luck at the next round next month at Caroline Chisholm School. Special thanks are also reserved for the Sports Leaders of Moulton School who supported the officiating of each match.
