Kingsthorpe Cluster update...Term 4

The year 3 Multi-Sport festival was organised and run by year 7 students from our Young Leader Development Squad. This was the first event they have done since completing their leadership training and they were FANTASTIC! The students worked brilliantly together to plan a variety of activities including crab football, races and football-rounders. They had up to 20 year 3 children at a time but that didn't faze them at all! They were confident, enthusiastic and professional for the whole 2 hours. The year 3 children had a great time and it was good to see them working well with children from other primary schools. We received some lovely feedback from primary staff praising our students.

'Thanks for a successful multi-sports event this afternoon. The year 7s were great and our children loved it' Brian Gwynne, KVPS Headteacher

We held a cluster Cross-Country event to prepare the children for the Town Cross Country. We had over 100 year 4, 5 and 6 children competing in a number of cross country races. Our school site provided a really challenging course for the primary pupils due to the steep hills and variety of terrains. We saw some superb performances during the afternoon! Many of the children went on to represent our cluster and their schools in the Town competition and did really well!
