Youth Sport Trust launch 2016 Talent Identifcation Programme

Nominations are now open for this year's Talent Inspiration Programme (TIP), which will be held at Loughborough University, running parallel with the Level 4 School Games. TIP brings together 300 young aspiring county and regional level athletes from across the country to participate in a residential learning experience.

Throughout the programme experienced Athlete Mentors bring to life the world of an elite athlete and the journey it takes to reach the top. Young people have the opportunity to get involved in theoretical workshops, practical sessions and an opportunity to experience what it is like at a multi-sport event.

All of these workshops are designed to engage and inspire young aspiring athletes, encourage them to start thinking about how they can reach their potential, and the impact that will have on their development as a young person.

TIP is a dynamic learning opportunity which will help to highlight the pathways available, as well as the support required for young aspiring athletes at a local level.

TIP returns this year with its traditional three-day residential experience for 14-18 year olds from across the country taking place, from Wednesday 31 August until Friday 02 September 2016 at Loughborough.

How to nominate...

Young people attending the three-day residential experience can be nominated for selection by;

1) Local Organising Committees,

2) National Governing Bodies of Sport,

3) School Games Organisers

4) Schools

Each LOC and NGB will this year receive two 'Future Star Passes', which guarantees two places at TIP for Northamptonshire, whilst a select panel from the Youth Sport Trust will meet to select the remaining places available, for those applications that have been made directly to the Youth Sport Trust.

To nominate a Young Person for TIP you need to register their details on the following website

All athletes who have been selected to attend TIP will receive communication stating if they have been successful with their application during the week beginning Monday 02 May.

They will then have until Wednesday 08 June to confirm and finalise their place at TIP.

Please ensure you nominate your Talented Athletes for this once in a lifetime opportunity – in previous years Northampton SSP has been very poor in recognising and rewarding our Talented Athletes via this programme.
