South Northants & Daventry SSP Crowned 2015 County School Games Champions

The 2015 Northamptonshire Sainsbury's School Games programme culminated in a glorious finale on Thursday 9th July at Moulton College, and basked in glorious sunshine giving perfect sporting conditions for over 1200 young athletes and disabled athletes all going all out for gold.
South Northants and Daventry (SSP) School Sport Partnership were in the lead after the Winter Games, and the medal tally and points from all the Summer Games competitions including standalone finals for Swimming at Corby International Pool, Cricket at Northampton County Cricket Club and Gymnastics at Rushden Diamonds Gymnastics Club were added to the Winter Games points, with the confirmation that South Northants and Daventry School Sport Partnership have won the School Games 2015 title.
The cup was presented to athletes from South Northants and Daventry at Caroline Chisholm School (pictured).
Gary Sheppard, Assistant Director of Northamptonshire Sport said "This is now the third year of the School Games and each year the Games have grown in the County. Schools across Northamptonshire have been competing throughout this academic year to qualify for the Winter and Summer finals, and I am delighted to see more teams entering, with more competitions and opportunities for all age groups to celebrate schools sport. Well done to all those who have taken part and to all those involved, a massive thank you for all the hard work in putting the competitions and the finals on"
He added "Congratulations to South Northants and Daventry School Sport Partnership for their tremendous achievement, they were already in the lead after the Winter Games and have again put in an outstanding performance in the Summer Games to become Northamptonshire Sainsbury's School Games Champions 2015 for the second year running – Well done."
