Be Safe When Running by the Water

Following the release of the 2014 accidental drowning figures from the National Water Safety Forum. Runners and walkers have been noted as an at risk group. Out of the 338 accidental drowning 138 were running or walking at the time. These were a group of people that had no intention of being in the water.

Running and walking near water can be a fantastic place to be, but a couple of small changes will help you to stay safe. Ensure you stay back away from the edge in case the bank is weak or you trip and take a friend with you. Not only can you support and encourage each other, there is also someone to help you if you accidentally fall in.
