Sportshall Success for Brixworth at Daventry Finals

On Thursday 15th January, 7 Primary Schools from across the Daventry district met in the Year 5/6 Sportshall Athletics District Finals, held at Daventry Leisure Centre.

Throughout the afternoon, children from Badby, Boughton, Brixworth, Crick, Guilsborough, The Abbey and The Grange each had the chance to showcase their talents across a number of track and field events; including the Obstacle Relay, 6 Lap Paarlauf, Speed Bounce and Javelin; earning points for their school in the process.

These events proved challenging and fun and all the children enjoyed a great afternoon of sport.

When all the individual scores were combined to give an overall team total, the final standings were:

1st Brixworth

2nd Badby

3rd The Grange

4th Crick

5th Guilsborough and The Abbey

7th Boughton

Congratulations and well done to all the children who took part and represented their schools so enthusiastically. Brixworth and Badby now go on to represent Daventry at the South Northants and Daventry Partnership's Sportshall Athletics Finals to be held at the Daventry Leisure on 5th February, and the winners and runners up of that competition will progress to compete at the Winter School Games in Kettering on 24th February.

The Partnership would like to thank the parents and carers who came to support the children and watched from the gallery above the hall. Plus a very special thank you to the Young Leaders from DSLV, who played such an important role in the delivery of this competition and without whose support the competition would not have been possible.
