The first half term of the Northamptonshire School Games saw entries come in from all parts of Northamptonshire. Over the next few weeks the panels will be sitting down to Judge the Level 2 and Level 3 Winners. Full winners details will be announced over the coming weeks.
The topic for this half term is Inclusions with students asked to write about How they encouraged a classmate who is less active than they are to take part in a new club
Or how they helped survey less active people in school to find out what new activities they would like to try.
The Literacy Competitions will enable Schools to compete for Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 School Games Literacy prizes, with a new theme each term. The Competition launched on Tuesday 4 November with the first theme: Health and Wellbeing, coinciding with the Reward and Recognition Scheme promoted by the Youth Sports Trust. An overall Level 3 Northamptonshire Literacy Champion will be announced each term by Northamptonshire Sport.
There are two age groups for the Competitions; year 3 and 4, plus year 5 and 6 with two award categories. The Gold award will focus on high levels of writing and excellent English, grammar and punctuation which explores the key theme. Young people will also be encouraged to highlight the 'Spirit of the Games' values. The Silver award will reward high levels of creativity and passion for School Sport, with more emphasis on effort.
