The Rugby World Cup 2015 will be played across England and Wales in September and October 2015. It will be the third largest sports event in the world, with over 2 million tickets being sold, 17 venues that will entertain half a million international visitors and 20 teams in action over 48 games. The organisers are planning for a Festival of Rugby that will grasp the attention of the Nation and to leave a lasting legacy for the game of Rugby.
At a local level, following the success of the Area 4 Legacy Board in engaging with local business partners, an opportunity is now available to the rugby community to gain funding support for any potential projects which prove to have a lasting impact on the game.
Applications are welcomed from clubs, trusts, charities, schools, as well as sports and other organisations. Details of the type of projects the RFU are looking to support are detailed in the attached document below. An application form is also attached, which must be completed. Your project can be delivered before, during, and / or after the tournament.
All applications should be sent to Peter Wheeler, Area 4 Legacy Group Chair, via Erin Kirby at the RFU (email@example.com).
