Kascie loves playing wheelchair rugby having been inspired to take up the sport after watching it being played at the 2012 Paralympic Games in London where his Cousin was playing for Sweden.
Previously Kascie had participated in very little physical activity growing up and struggled to be included in many things due to mobility issues related to having Cerebral Palsy. Therefore when the chance came to play wheelchair rugby at the new club established by Northampton Saints he didn't have to think twice about getting involved.
As well as getting Kascie more active being involved in the club has created new social opportunities for him and improved his self – confidence. So much so that he now helps coach the younger players before his own training with the adult players.
Wheelchair rugby has also provided Kascie with more independence and a chance to travel the world. He's now been to Sweden twice to play for the Gothenburg Lions and on the second occasion travelled alone which is something he'd of never considered prior to taking up the sport.
Kascie is now training hard and improving all the time which has resulted in him recently being involved in trials for the Great Britain Wheelchair Rugby team. He is therefore well on course to achieve his ambition of representing his country at a future Paralympic Games to complete the loop of how he got involved in the sport in the first place. He will no doubt then inspire many other people to take it up as he hopes they will having seen and heard from him in his See Active Be Active film.
