Keynote Address - Tim Buckle

Tim Buckle is a professional cyclist representing Great Britain and England at the World Championships and Commonwealth Games in the early 2000's. He spent 4 years as an international athlete and then transitioned into the Team GB coaching staff and cut his teeth as a regional development coach. In this role, he developed a methodology that engaged and developed not only the young athletes physically but gave rise to a new way of thinking about cycling based around the importance of 'playing the game' and also placing a greater emphasis on the development of the person through their sport. Tim has worked closely with Professor Steve Peters professionally and personally for 14 years and during this time has been instrumental in creating the foundations for the GB Cycling under 16 programme.

Workshops, seminars and practical sessions will provide best practice examples supported with case-studies in:

  • Sainsbury's Active Kids for All; Inclusive PE Training
  • real Play
  • Wellbeing at Work
  • Evidencing the Impact of PE & Sport Premium
  • Behaviour Change
  • Yoga
  • Physical activity in an outdoor Setting
