Dementia Friends Information Session

A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. This session is aimed specifically at any activity leaders, coaches or volunteers that are helping with local sport and activity sessions within Kings Sutton. If you would like to make your sessions Dementia Friendly to give people with Dementia the opportunity to still take part in sport and physical activity, this free workshop will help you.

Dementia Friends Information Session

A Dementia Friend learns a little bit more about what it's like to live with dementia and then turns that understanding into action. This session is aimed specifically at any activity leaders, coaches or volunteers that are helping with local sport and activity sessions within Kings Sutton.

If you would like to make your sessions Dementia Friendly to give people with Dementia the opportunity to still take part in sport and physical activity, this free workshop will help you.

Each Information Session lasts around one hour – 90 minutes depending on questions. The training looks at the different types of Dementia and gives an understanding of how it affects physical and mental abilities, why people react in certain ways and how to deal with this.

The trainees will then become a Dementia Friend, this is a voluntary acknowledgement that they understand Dementia.
