Itinerary

9:00am - 12:00pm Active Schools and Active Literacy delivered by iMoves

This workshop is aimed at schools who are looking for practical ideas on how to get the whole school more active, not only in PE but also in the classroom and during breaks. Topics include changing mindset, culture and ethos; ideas around creating more active spaces in and around school; and how to successfully roll out an Active Schools Programme. Teachers get to experience an Active Lesson with a focus on Literacy, Science, PSHE and Humanities. Following the session, teachers will have access to our free online resources for a month as part of the Active School Challenge.

12:00pm - 1:00pm Lunch and Networking (Please note lunch is not provided - refreshments will be available throughout the day)

1:00pm - 4:00pm Active Maths delivered by Maths of the Day

This workshop looks at the research, rationale and benefits of introducing 'active maths' into the curriculum - focusing on how this approach is raising attitudes and attainment to maths in schools across the UK and internationally. Teachers will be introduced to the 'Maths of the Day' online platform, which provides over 2000 lesson plans and resources on how to deliver maths through physical activity. Delegates will be given sample plans for each year group.
