Corby, Oundle and Thrapston SSP Enhanced Schools

Off the back of the government's announcement of further funding for each primary school into the 2015/16 academic year, we are keen to further the develop PE and School Sports across the School Sports Partnership.

As a School Sports Partnership we work closely with 20 schools through our Enhanced Sport Premium Officer (ESPO) Package.

All Enhanced School recieve expert support in the development of a structured support program for the teaching and learning of staff. This means these schools offer child led assessment, physical performance tracker designed and teacher consultations completed. This had led to new policy and development plans being created for these schools. A new project for 2014/15 is a work strand supporting the gifted and talented performers from across the enhanced schools.

These schools have also developed School Sports Crews, Sports Ambassadors and Young Leaders to support government highlighted Change4Life Sports clubs and other projects. 'Change4Life' group have been created offering children the chance to encourage other children and adults to eat healthily and live a longer and more active life. All of which are OFSTED highlighted key area's for expenditure.

The School Sports Partnership have also been able to source additional funding for these enhanced schools to run a 'Get Set Legacy Project' targeting disaffected girls in school and how Physical Education or Activity can be used to re engage these pupils back into learning. For all of the new enhanced schools they will be able to work with the School Sports Partnership to target these funding streams to see some return on your investment.

Through the offer so far we have supported staff from the enhanced schools attend or have seen them supported in school on professional development sessions for Change4life, Create Development 'First Funs' enabling essential physical skills for early years and KS1, Arrows Archery training , Gymnastics and Apparatus training plus other individual school specific needs.

This has proven to be extremely successful and we feel we are now in a situation to develop this offer further. As such we are delighted to offer your school the opportunity to buy in to the School Sports Partnership even further.
