School Competition Calendar

School Games competition is part of a national programme to deliver an Olympic-style School Sport Competition and create a true legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The inclusive programme aims to motivate and inspire every young person in Primary, Secondary and Special Schools across the County to take part in fun competition and find a sport they can enjoy for life.

The Corby, Oundle and Thrapston School Games feeds into the Northamptonshire School Games offering a structured programme of School Games competition. It begins with Level 1 competition leading to Level 2 competition for clusters of schools in a wide range of sports. The School Sport Partnership manages District level competition across all the key stages, which acts as qualification for Northamptonshire County School Games competition.

The Northamptonshire School Games is a Celebration of Sport following the Spirit of the Games values, to give young people a taste of a multi-sport competition. The Winter School Games for Northamptonshire usually takes place in February, followed by the Summer School Games in July.
