Support for Change4Life Clubs
Schools who would like to or are currently delivering a Change4Life Sports Club or alternative club with matching ethos may be entitled to receive free support from the SSP to get their club running in 2018/19.
A key part of the School Games, the Change4Life programme looks to increase physical activity levels amongst the least active children by taking part in a range of non-sports specific games and activities. Ideally delivered over 12 weeks to a targeted group of individuals, the sessions act as a stepping stone to more regular involvement in physical activity both in and out of school.
Setting up a new club
Schools wishing to set up a new club are eligible to receive free Change4Life Champions Training. This is school-based workshop which provides the children with some context of what Change4Life is, the importance of an active lifestyle and an introduction to delivering the some of the Change4Life activities.
The session is ideally suited for groups up to 30 pupils and can be delivered flexibly either as a 2 hour workshop during the school day or as two 1 hour lunchtime/twilight training sessions.
Relaunching an existing club
Schools who have previously run a Change4Life or similar club are eligible for a free top-up club resource pack (limited availability). Each pack contains new Change4Life Log Books, Stickers and wristbands.
Change4Life Celebration Festival and Graduation
Schools who look are looking to celebrate their attendee's achievements through a Celebration Festival or Graduation are eligible for SSP support. This can be in the form of helping to plan an event, loaning equipment, supporting or delivering at an event or presenting at an achievement assembly.
