Women living in and around the Rushden area will soon have a new fun way to keep active as ‘This Girl Can’ fitness classes are starting at the Pemberton Centre on Saturday 24th September from 9:30 – 10:15 am.
The classes are open to any women, but are especially suitable for beginners and those returning to exercise after a break. They are designed to be a first stepping stone for beginners into group classes and will include a variety of exercise types. They will be extremely relaxed with the main focus on fun and building confidence as well as fitness while also hopefully making some new friends along the way too.
There will be a free taster session held this Saturday 17th September 9:30 – 10 am for people to try the classes before the full 12 week schedule starts the following week.
The classes are free for members of the Pemberton Centre, but non–members can also benefit from a great deal for the first 6 weeks while they build up their confidence in participating in them. It will cost them £6 per session which is the normal rate for classes, but they can then also bring a friend for free. This will hopefully help people feel relaxed and enjoy the sessions even more as a result.
“We’re delighted to be offering these classes. The ‘This Girl Can’ campaign has been extremely popular since it was launched by Sport England providing women, and girls with the confidence to get active regardless of their age, size, ability, or background! We want women in our local area to attend these classes, have fun with friends, make new ones and enjoy all the benefits being active brings.”
More information about the classes can be found on the ‘This Girl Can’ website. People can book to attend the classes by contacting the Pemberton Centre on 01933 350 324, or just turn up on the day.
