Funded by the Department of Transport (DfT), Bikeability is designed to give youngsters the skills and confidence to ride, especially on roads. Formerly called Cycling Proficiency, the programme also aims to sustain participation in cycling activity in England.

Bikeability is delivered in the Wellingborough and East Northants School Sport Partnership through Manor School Sports College, as a School Games Organiser host school. This is the only remaining Bikeability programme hosted by a School Sport Partnership in the County. DfT Funding has been secured for 2016 to 2019.

The focus is delivering training for young people in Years 5 and 6 to Primary Schools in the Partnership, to attain Levels 1 & 2 Bikeability awards. All young people completing the training receive an official Bikeability log book and certificate.

To request Bikeability training for your Primary School in 2016-17, please complete the form below and ensure your Head Teacher completes the Sign Up Sheet. Priority bookings will be given to Schools that are members of the School Sport Partnership or those that have signed up to the Healthier Child Programme.
