An Overview of Walking Football
Though based on football, the key difference in the rules, from standard football, is that if a player runs then they concede a free kick to the other side. This restriction, together with a ban on slide tackles, is aimed at avoiding injuries.
Benefits
The manner in which the sport is played promotes cardiovascular fitness whilst producing the least stress on the body. It also assists participants maintain an active lifestyle.
Equipment
When played indoors, a size 4 futsal ball is used. Outdoor games involve a traditional football.

Walking Football Club. Weekly meeting to play walking football.
Three weekly sessions for over 50s: Mondays 6.30-8pm , Tuesday & Fridays 10.30-12noon. More sessions added in summer.
Ideal if unable play football due to injury, illness, medical condition, diabetes, disability, age, weight, fitness.
The official NTFC group withTwo weekly sessions at Thomas Becket School NN3 6HT. Wednesday 7.30pm - 9.00pm and Saturday 9.30am - 11am. Open to all players aged 50+.
This is a minimal contact sport for over 50s for those unable to play running football due to fitness and health levels.
If you're still fit enough for normal soccer then, well done but this club probably isn’t for you.
Please arrive 30 mins earlier than KO for: Rules, regs, subs, pitch set up, allocate teams and WARM-UP (to reduce injuries!) and so ensure we have a full hour. Subs: Monday 6.45-8.15pm - £4/£3
Tuesdays & Fridays 11am-12noon £2.
