Eleanor Robinson - JOINT WINNER
A multiple Gold medallist and record holder at national, European and world level, Eleanor continues to set new standards in para swimming. Selected by Team England to attend the Commonwealth Games in Australia, Eleanor won gold in the S7 50m butterfly, despite Eleanor being a S6 swimmer and was therefore competing in a class higher than she normally competes at
Maisie Summers Newton - JOINT WINNER
Another world class swimmer, Maisie is a gold medallist and record holder at national, European and world level at distances ranging from 50m to 400m, freestyle and breaststroke. At the World Para – Swimming Series event in Sheffield Maisie won the S6 100m breaststroke and broke the World Record by over a second. She won gold medals in the S6 100m Breaststroke, 200m Individual Medley (breaking the World Record for both the events) & 4 X 100m Women's Medley relay.
Dermot is a GB wheelchair tennis player. This year he has won the Singles and Doubles at the Bulley Open in Switzerland, Singles and Doubles at the Slovakian Open, The Memorial Cup Singles in Belgium and the Singles at the Return Cup in Hungary, where he beat the world ranked 25th, 26th and 27th players. He also won a Silver medal at the Worlds Team Cup (Davis Cup) in Holland. He does all this whilst working full time.
Jack has temporal Lobe Epilepsy and as a result, Jack suffers with several types of seizures. These seizures have impacted on his progress in Archery, including missing much of the 2017 / 2018 indoor season. Jack has overcome these issues with hard work and is now shooting both for the county and the East Midlands and is looking forward to a much better Indoor season this winter
Kian competed in the 2018 County swimming championships and won 12 gold medals. Having achieved regional qualifying times, Kian was ranked first in the East Midlands region at the Para regionals. For the first time, Kian qualified for Swim England's summer nationals and has competed for England and team GB. He now aims to swim for Team Gb at the European Championships. All this has been achieved despite still undergoing regular Chemotherapy for his medical conditions.
