Kettering Hockey Club - WINNER
Kettering Hockey Club was named the England Hockey Club of the year, beating off 600 other clubs for this prestigious honour. The club has grown junior membership to 80 and have 38 junior selected to play county hockey. It runs 4 ladies, 4 men's and 4 junior age group teams, as well as having members still playing into their 70s. With a new committee in place the club has also just reaccredited with Club Mark.
Corby Steel Diving club
Corby Steel Diving Club is a dynamic and highly successful community club that delivers excellent opportunities for local individuals. It is supported by a highly motivated committee and is expanding its membership and coaching team year on year. It has been awarded Swim Mark accreditation and is one of only 8 clubs in the country to be awarded with Diving development centre status.
Oundle RFC have climb from Midlands 4 to Midlands 1 in only 4 seasons. They are the highest performing side in the county (excluding Northampton Saints). Participation rates have increased, symbolised by programmes such as 'return to rugby'. The club also raised £20,000 to assist with the upbringing of the 1 year old son of a player who sadly passed away. Oundle RFC is truly 'a small town club with a big heart'
The club has now grown to approximately 130 members and the club has developed a super team of child focused instructors to support the club's two founders. The club provides ongoing training and development for its members and this year retained Sport England's Club mark accredited status. The club boasts a number of current World champions and medallists, 6 national champions and has developed a junior instructor programme for junior members to train other juniors.
