Youth Games

The Northamptonshire Youth Games, launched in 1999, is now in its eighth year.  Originally planned as a means to celebrate the Millennium, over  5,000 young people have been involved as participants and over 1000 adults involved as officials, team managers and sports co-ordinators.

Northamptonshire Youth Games aims to:

  • be accessible and equitable
  • promote fair play and a spirit of friendly competition
  • provide new competitive opportunities for all young people
  • encourage the development of new working partnerships
  • encourage the personal development of young people
  • be sustainable

Each districts within the county works closely with local schools, clubs and  coaches to develop a programme of coaching to develop squads and team spirit, followed by trials to select players for the day.

Northamptonshire Sport would like to thank all those involved in the development of the Youth Games. These include the seven Borough/District Councils of Northamptonshire, Northamptonshire County Council, local schools and clubs, coaches, officials and volunteers, National/Local Governing Bodies of Sport and Sport England.

Sponsoring the Youth Games

Northamptonshire Sport is actively seeking to secure sponsorship for this year's Youth Games. Any sponsorship we receive can help us provide a positive, memorable and fun day for the many young people involved. Sponsoring the Youth Games will provide wide exposure to a large number of young people, their families, teachers, coaches and sports related officials across the county.
