Volleyball

Introduction
Volleyball England is the recognised National Governing Body for Volleyball, Beach Volleyball and Sitting Volleyball in England. Volleyball England is responsible for the development, promotion and delivery of Volleyball across England. The National Volleyball Centre for Volleyball England is now based in Kettering at the Kettering Sports Arena. Volleyball England is the recognised National Association.
Prior to the English Volleyball Association, the Amateur Volleyball Association of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (AVA) was in existence from 1955. In 1968 the AVA was disbanded to make way for separate English, Scottish, Welsh and Northern Ireland Volleyball Associations.
Contact on a UK basis has been maintained through the British Volleyball Federation (BVF), which is the body now responsible for delivering a GB Programme leading up to the 2012 Olympics.
The Whole Sport Plan for Volleyball has set ambitious targets for the expansion of its membership. This includes an increase in affiliated Clubs, of qualified, registered and active Coaches and Referees, of Volunteers and of players of all standards and ages irrespective of gender and background.
