 Introduction

Table Tennis is an Olympic sport that is played between two or four players, and is one of the fastest reaction sports in the world, with as little as 0.2 seconds to react to the ball leaving one persons bat to landing on the opponents side.

The basics of the game have not changed in essence over the years although the ITTF have always tried to ensure the game remains a contest of human skills rather than reliant on new technological developments.
The National Governing Body is The English Table Tennis Association.
Northamptonshire Sport has a lead officer for the sport who works closely with the ETTA to develop the sport locally.

Coach

Clubs

Northamptonshire is fortunate to have some very good clubs offering high quality Table tennis.  In addition, there is a high performance centre based in the county, which is home to Westfields Table Tennis Club, one of the premier clubs in the country.
