Club Accreditation

British Triathlon Clubmark is called Triathlon Clubmark (junior clubs) or STAR (senior clubs)

2 Accreditation Schemes:

  1. Triathlon Clubmark - the Sport England Accreditation for Junior Clubs with some adaptations to fit triathlon
  2. STAR - Senior Triathlon Accredited club scheme - in-house scheme designed to recognise senior clubs - currently being revised to have better alignment with Clubmark.

What Support does British Triathlon provide clubs working towards accreditation?

1-1 support with RDO - help with writing Action/ Development Plan, accessing courses and help to find funding upon receiving award.

Does British Triathlon offer a benefits package?

Yes.  Semi - mainly intangible benefits e.g increased publicity, membership etc. They receive recognition through our regional and national websites, and within the annual handbook.

Is British Triathlon registered to process CRB checks?

Yes we now run an in house system which ensures all coaches and major volunteer receive CRB checks.

What is the British Triathlon recommended player: coach ratio?

1:15 for Children and adults
1:5 for Youths (15-16) in open water practise (1:7 for adults)

Does the British Triathlon have a code of conduct which coaches are expected to sign up to?

Yes

What funding schemes does British Triathlon run to support club development?

  • None at present

Coaching Development

Does British Triathlon have a coach recognition scheme?
Yes.  UKCC Coaching Awards L1-5; Levels 1-3 have been re-written and rolled out across the country. Progression now onto L4 and 5.
