Is England Hockey registered to process CRB checks?

Yes.  Coaches and volunteers in hockey - Disclosure of a Volunteer £5. Disclosure of paid staff £10.  Clubs have to register - £15 for non affiliated clubs to EH, £5 to affiliated clubs

What is the England Hockey recommended player: coach ratio?

1:12

England Hockey does have a code of conduct which hockey coaches are expected to sign up to.

Volunteers

England Hockey does not have a Volunteer Co-ordinator - this is planned for Summer 2005

Does England Hockey run any volunteer support schemes?

England Hockey does has a Volunteer Support strategy embedded in Whole Sport Plan - "Uniting the Hockey Family"
Have also just introduced a Volunteer Reward Programme and features a Volunteer of the month on the website.

Also has programmes for specific events including annual events such as National Indoor Finals.

  • National Coaching Conference - existing coaches

Coaching Development

Does England Hockey run a coach recognition scheme?

No. Being reviewed - To be launched with licensing scheme by 2007

Does England Hockey run a coach mentoring scheme?

Yes. Part of the criteria to become Level 2 coach is 20 hours contact time with a mentor
