The BCU have adapted Sport England's Clubmark scheme to form Top Club which is inline with all Clubmark criteria.  Accreditation falls into two categories Top Community Club and Top Performance Club.

Which clubs have already achieved Top Club/Clubmark?

Which clubs have signed up and are working towards Top Club/Clubmark?

  • No clubs are registered yet

What Support does the BCU provide clubs working towards accreditation?

  • Officer time to support the Club
  • Templates and resource support

Does the BCU offer a benefits package?

  • The main benefit to Club is it may open up additional funding opportunities
  • Support to attend coaching workshops and courses
  • Promotion as a Top Club

Is the BCU registered to process CRB checks?

Yes. The BCU will process CRB checks for club coaches and volunteers in Canoeing only.  Free of charge

What is the BCU recommended player: coach ratio?

It will vary according to the Water environment; however 1:8 is the guideline for most flat water conditions

Does the BCU have a code of conduct which  coaches are expected to sign up to?

Yes
