SportEd. Regional Manager East Midlands
sported. was set up in 2008 with the aim of improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK through their participation in sport. sported. will work with organisations using sport as a vehicle for personal and community development, which don't form part of the school or club structure and which range from third sector organisations, to community based clubs and inspirational individuals running projects.
sported. is looking for a Regional Manager to set up and run its services in the East Midlands. Your first priority will be to identify Mentors and to map out community sports provision in the region, identifying potential partners, local funders and existing networks. You will assess community sports agencies and decide which ones will benefit the most from sported's services. You will then provide a system that will across the region, provide capacity building services to those organisations in need - offering one-to-one support in areas such as governance, policies and procedures, applying for funding, business planning, financial management, monitoring and evaluation.
You will build the profile and network of sported in East Midlands and make sure its sports providers within the community and voluntary sector, have access to the resources they need to operate to the maximum of their potential. A motivated self-starter, you will have management experience in the voluntary sector, with a track record of organisational or departmental development. In addition to your strong inter-personal and communication skills you will have experience of delivering training and of managing staff or volunteers.
An understanding of the sports sector and of the fundraising environment will be an advantage.
