School Games

This year the Northamptonshire School Games will hosted at Moulton College on July 12th 2012.

School Games (Funding by the Department of Culture, Media and Sport)are being hosted all over the country to encourage young people to become more involved in competitive sport and will also inspire the next generation of Olympic hopefuls.

Using Moulton College's world class facilities, over 1000 pupils aged 5-15y rs will participate in a variety of different sports including Golf, Gymnastics, Rugby, Cricket, Athletics, Volleyball and many more.

Over the past few months, pupils have been participating in qualifying competitions in order to represent their school and district. As well as supporting pupil-athletes, School Sport Managers in each district have been developing leadership academies in secondary schools to support sports delivered at the School Games.

In preparation for the high profile event, over 200 sports leaders will receive specific School Games training and will assist National Governing Bodies of Sport to deliver high quality competitions on the day.
